David Murch - Callaway Smith cobb funeral home
David H. Murch, President/General Manager
David Murch has been associated with the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home since 1986 and the owner since 2010. David grew up in Ardmore but moved to Grayling, Michigan during his sophomore year of high school. An avid Oklahoma State University Cowboy fan, upon graduation from high school, yes he really did graduate, he followed a life long dream to attend OSU. He's a proud graduate of Oklahoma State University with a B.S. in Marketing and also holds a degree in Funeral Services from the Dallas Institute of Funeral Service. An outdoors enthusiast, David loves to hunt and fish and he especially enjoys fly fishing, although he's not that good at it and please, don't even ask about his golf game! He's also been known to spend a little seat time on his tractor at the farm. David has been extremely active in both community and professional organizations and has held leadership positions of countless community organizations. He's also a past President of the Oklahoma Funeral Directors Association and is a past board member on the Marlow Municipal Authority among other boards.
Paul Newman - Funeral Director
Paul Robert Newman, Funeral Director/Embalmer
Robert has been with Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home since 1991. He grew up in Duncan and graduated from Duncan High School and earned his degree in Funeral Service from the Dallas Institute of Funeral Service in 1995. He is married to the former Cavin (Fowler) Newman and together, they have one son, Conner who is attending Southwestern Oklahoma University in Weatherford. Robert is very active in his church where he’s a Deacon and he also plays the drums for his gospel band, the Gospel Travelers. When you visit with Robert, ask him to tell you about trying his hand at being a rodeo clown after 20 plus years of retirement from that line of work. You’ll soon learn why he is so involved in his church. He is a true testament to the statement, “The mind is willing, but the bodies’ not able.”
Trista Murch - Callaway Smith Cobb
Trista Murch, Pre Need Advisor
Although born in Alabama, Trista grew up in Bray, OK and is a graduate of Bray High School. She also holds a degree in Human Ecology/Psychology from Cameron University. Here at the funeral home, her main focus is on helping our families preplan their funeral or cremation services. She also helps keep David on task, which is really a full time job in itself, and also fills in and helps wherever she’s needed.
When she’s not working at the funeral home, Trista enjoys working around the house, decorating, tending to the flowers, and yes, cleaning. She loves to entertain and especially loves when family and friends are gathered at her home where everyone can spend time together. She is the mother of Jordan and Jaret Perkins and the newly anointed GiGi for her granddaughter Lorelei Murch. Trista is married to David Murch, thus the name, lol!
